Incentives for Volunteers
- Workers Compensation Insurance.
- VFIS Insurance.
- State Firemen Pension & Retirement S.B.411:
City contributes $100.00 per
month
per volunteer firefighter.
- Per Call Incentive: The total budget for this program is
$75,000 per year which
equates to $12.00 to $19.50 per call.
Paid in October.
- Incentive for attending week long training: $550 week.
- Incentive for volunteer attending State certified fire academy & State
certified EMT school:
After receiving both State certifications City
will pay $1,000.00.
Applicant must be off
Probation to attend academy
and receive incentive.
- Certification pay range from $75 to $525.00 per certification:
Paid in September.
- Officer Pay: 4,200.00. 1st & 2nd Assistant Chief 1,500 each
and Secretary 1,200.00.
Paid in September.
- Educational Pay: 300.00 per degree. Paid in December.
Full Time Members Only. Water discounts $121.20 per year per firefighter:
Paid in January.
- City pays for all training tuition, mileage, lodging and meals.
- City pays all dues & subscriptions.
- City provides dress uniforms, driver shift uniforms, t-shirts and caps for new firefighters
and replacement for existing firefighters.
- City Provides bunker gear (PPE) for new firefighters.
- City provides pagers for new firefighters.
- City provides portable radios for new firefighters.
- Member who recruits a new volunteer receives an incentive of
(non certified 750.00 / certified 1,000.00).
Pay ½ upon entry and ½ at end of probation.
- Longevity pay 5.00 per month: Paid in January.
- Compensation for recruit trainees at a rate of $8.00 per training hour. One at each station.
Hours worked will be Monday through Friday 6:00 pm to 10:00pm and Saturday / Sunday
10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Part-time Driver Shifts for Two Stations
After reaching a certain level of training and released to
drive apparatus, the
volunteers can sign up to work
part-time driver shifts.
- Regular Time: 896 twelve hour shifts @ 20.00 per hour.
- Holiday Time: 40 twelve hour shifts @ 30.00 per hour.
