What is The Harbor and what does it offer?
The Harbor is a unique $79 million public-private lakeside development that opened in the fall of 2006. Since its debut, The Harbor has become a popular destination, attracting thousands of visitors from throughout the region.
Situated on the hillside above Lake Ray Hubbard south of Interstate 30, this one-of-a-kind development offers premier commercial, entertainment and recreation opportunities. It also provides access to the city’s last remaining public shoreline in a breathtaking Mediterranean setting. This charming 38-acre landmark development is a joint project of the City of Rockwall and Whittle Development.

The City owns and maintains the stunning public area known as The Harbor, where visitors can stroll along boardwalks, enjoy the beautiful fountains and admire the lighthouse on the jetty. A grass amphitheatre seats more than 2000 people, offering opportunities for public entertainment events such as the popular summer Concert by the Lake series and the fall Jazz at Sunset series.
The Harbor’s adjacency to Interstate 30 allows for easy access, and ample parking is available. Also, boat tie-ups provide a unique convenience for visitors who choose to come by water. Spaces are available in the public area of The Harbor to rent for private events such as weddings, parties, festivals, corporate events and fundraisers. The adjacent private development, Bella Harbor, offers upscale shopping, a variety of great restaurants and a 12-screen cinema. A Hilton Hotel and convention center will open in early 2008.
