Our Mission

Volunteering is a legitimate leisure choice! The Rockwall Parks & Recreation Department wants to be “A department that is a leader in improving the quality of life by providing attractive grounds and recreation opportunities.” WE NEED YOUR HELP! This is your chance to team up with your neighbors, community group, friends or co-workers to make a difference in your community!

How CAN I VOLUNTEER?

Contact the Rockwall Parks & Recreation Department for a volunteer registration form! Once you get in our volunteer database, we will forward you upcoming opportunities via email!

Scheduled Clean Up Days

April 21st – Spring Cleaning at Myers Park
Tasks: litter pick up, painting trash cans, trimming trees & shrubs, cleaning pavilion and grills, staining fences, cleaning bridge and much more!
Location: East Pavilion at Harry Myers Community Park (815 E. Washington)
Time: 9 am

May 19th – Make a Clean Sweep at the Founders Day Festival
Tasks: Litter control, vendor set-up, vendor tear-down
Location: Historic Downtown Square (101 E Rusk) – Meet at the Parks and Recreation booth!
Time: 8 am

June 16th – Lofland Park Train, Paint & Stain Day
Tasks: playground repairs, installing fall zone mulch, painting and staining the train
Location: Lofland Park (407 Kernodle)
Time: 9 am

June 16th – Invasive Species Removal Day – Blackland Prairie Restoration
Tasks: Remove non-native plant species
Location: Harry Myers Community Park, Historic Museum (901 E Washington)
Time: 9 am

July 21st – Squabble Creek Mountain Bike Trail Work Day
Tasks: clear trail & litter control
Location: Squabble Creek Mountain Bike Trail (2201 N. Lakeshore Dr.)
Time: 9 am
