Mission
The Engineering Department is tasked with overseeing planning, design and construction of the transportation, drainage, water and  wastewater Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) within the City of Rockwall.  Continual improvement of the City of Rockwall infrastructure is important in moving the City of Rockwall forward.



Traffic Signal Improvements
Ralph Hall Parkway and Steger Towne Road

  • Internally illuminated street signs

    North Water Improvements

    Current Status: Under Construction
    • Replacement of approximately 4,400 linear
      feet of water line to 8-inch diameter.

    Southside Elevated Tank Valve Installation
    Project Manager: Jeremy White, P.E., CFM
    Current Status: Completed
    • Valve installation on the existing 16-inch
      concrete reinforced steel cylinder pipe at the
      Southside Elevated Storage Tank, includes preforming
      line stops and bypasses in order to install two
      16-inch butterfly valves.

    Greencrest 16" Water Line Replacement

    Current Status: Completed
    • Replacement of existing 16 inch water line from W. Yellowjacket Ln. to the westbound frontage road of IH-30.Approximately 1,600 linear feet in length.
    • Street Pavement Replacement

    FM 3549 16" Water Line Relocation
    Project Manager: Jeremy White, P.E., CFM
    Current Status: Engineering Design
    • The water line will be relocated, from a point approximately 550ft North of the IH-30 frontage road to a point adjacent to the northern property line of 670 Stodghill Rd (FM 3549), approximately 2800 feet in length and along FM 3549.
    • Water line being relocated due to TxDOT FM 3549 widening project.

    Stonebridge Lift Station Elimination
    Project Manager: Jeremy White, P.E., CFM
    Current Status: Engineering Design/Feasibility
    • Eliminating the aging existing wet/well/dry pit lift station by installing a new gravity sanitary sewer main from the existing NTMWD wastewater main to an existing wastewater manhole of S. Lakeshore Drive and Shore view Drive.
    • New services and cleanouts will be installed for the properties served by the new gravity mains.
    • The existing lift station will be decommissioned.

    Squabble Creek Lift Station Improvements/Quail Run Trunk Sewer
    Project Manager: Jeremy White, P.E., CFM
    Current Status: Engineering Design
    • Lift Station Rehab includes replacement of existing pumps, pump starters, electrical room, transformer and generator.
    • Existing generator to be removed to Heath Street Pump Station.
    • Quail Run trunk sewer is 2,225 feet of 30 inch to 36 inch line that will by-pass Quail run lift station.

    Harborview Sanitary Sewer Relocation
    Project Manager: Jeremy White, P.E., CFM
    Current Status: Completed
    • Relocation of approximately 250 linear feet of 8-inch
      wastewater main
    • Relocation of approximately 305 linear feet of 6-inch
      wastewater force main.

    Signal Ridge Sanitary Sewer Pipebursting
    Project Manager: Jeremy White, P.E., CFM
    Current Status: Under Construction
    • Pipebursting approximately 1,200 linear feet of existing 10 inch diameter PVC wastewater main to 14 inch diameter main.
    • Project includes removal and replacement of existing manholes and reconnection of existing services.
    • Project in located to the west of the Hilton, Portofino and Signal Ridge.

    Munson Street Sanitary Sewer Improvements
    Project Manager: Jeremy White, P.E., CFM
    Current Status: Completedn
    • Replace existing wastewater main with approximately 600 feet of 8 inch PVC pipe by open cut.
    • Including waterline connections at Star Street and Tyler Street.
    • Asphalt Road reclamation after the utilities are complete.

    Lake Forest Erosion Control
    Project Manager: Jeremy White, P.E., CFM
    Current Status: Completed
    • 134 linear feet of rock anchored, precast concrete "big block" retaining wall with a maximum height of 16.5 feet, articulated concrete block mattress, and other miscellaneous items.
